Description of the Collection of the Woodstock Historical Society.

The Woodstock Historical Society Collection is made up of a variety of items from books, manuscripts, photographs, maps, artwork, and objects.

The collection ranges from personal diaries to newspaper articles; negatives to painted photographs; tools to furniture.

We have an extensive collection of photographic material on Woodstock homes, events, schools, people, and agricultural pursuits.  There is nearly 900 glass plate negatives from about 1870's to the 1930's. Our collection of about 3,000 35mm slides include events in town and copies of older photographs not  in our collection.  This whole photographic collection came to us from Vernon Wetherell, former fire chief and amateur historian of Woodstock.
